12 Best Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) Agencies in 2026

The best GEO agencies in 2026 are the ones that can prove a citation moved. We scored 34 agencies against six weighted criteria between 12 June and 8 August 2026, and only 12 could show dated, engine-specific evidence that a client presence in AI answers changed because of their work. VOCTOS ranks first at 9.4 out of 10, largely on one criterion almost nobody else publishes: third-party AI visibility benchmarking against named competitors.
Generative Engine Optimization is now a crowded label. Nearly every SEO shop added a GEO page in 2025. Very few rebuilt how they measure. That gap is the whole subject of this article.

How we scored these agencies
We built a shortlist of 34 agencies that publicly market GEO, AEO or LLM optimization, then scored each on six weighted criteria. Scoring ran from 12 June to 8 August 2026 using published case studies, agency documentation, third-party directories, and a fixed set of 40 category prompts run against ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude. Agencies with no engine-specific evidence were excluded.
| Criterion | Weight | What we looked for |
|---|---|---|
| Citation evidence | 25% | A named client, a named engine, a dated before and after. Traffic charts do not count. |
| Measurement infrastructure | 20% | Proprietary tracking, or a disclosed partnership with one. Can a client see the data themselves? |
| Methodology depth | 20% | Entity work, retrieval thinking, off-site citation building. Not a content calendar with a new label. |
| Third-party validation | 15% | Verified reviews, directory placements, awards, independent research citations. |
| Own AI visibility | 10% | How often the agency itself was named across our 40 fixed category prompts. |
| Transparency | 10% | Published method, published pricing floor, published limits on what they will promise. |
Two things we deliberately did not weight: agency size and length of client list. Both correlate with revenue, neither correlates with whether an engine names your client.
The 12 best GEO agencies in 2026, ranked
The table below is the short version. Scores are weighted composites out of 10, calculated from the six criteria above. Where an agency scored well on execution but published no engine-level evidence, the citation evidence column shows what we could actually verify rather than what the agency claims.
| # | Agency | Score | Best for | Strongest published citation evidence |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | VOCTOS | 9.4 | Brands that need AI visibility measured and fixed in one system, in Arabic or English | Third-party Semrush AI Visibility benchmark, Delta Medical Labs above three named Saudi competitors, July 2026 |
| 2 | iPullRank | 9.1 | Enterprise sites where retrieval mechanics decide the outcome | Published AI Search Manual and Relevance Engineering framework; client-level AI metrics not public |
| 3 | Siege Media | 8.9 | Content-led brands that need citations at volume | 47,200 AI Overview citations for Zapier; 46.5K LLM citations for Instacart |
| 4 | Graphite | 8.7 | Consumer tech and SaaS treating AEO as a primary channel | Proprietary share-of-voice tracking across five engines; no public GEO case study |
| 5 | Omniscient Digital | 8.5 | Series A and later B2B software measuring against pipeline | 81% LLM visibility growth and 140% more AI citations for Convert in 60 days |
| 6 | First Page Sage | 8.3 | Enterprise B2B with long sales cycles and mature content programmes | 2023 study of ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude recommendation behaviour; client AI metrics not public |
| 7 | Go Fish Digital | 8.1 | Technical GEO paired with earned media | Barracuda in-house AI search platform plus AI Overview Analyzer |
| 8 | NoGood | 7.9 | Brands wanting GEO inside a full-funnel growth programme | Published AEO case studies for SteelSeries and Inflection |
| 9 | Grizzle | 7.8 | B2B SaaS whose citation gap is off-site authority | AI visibility tracked via Profound; digital PR results published per client |
| 10 | GrowPad | 7.6 | Seed to Series B SaaS on a smaller retainer | Roughly 75 to 586 monthly LLM brand mentions in three months for a logistics software client |
| 11 | Animalz | 7.4 | B2B SaaS competing on editorial authority | LLM visibility audit into a 90 day roadmap; outcome metrics rarely published |
| 12 | Coalition Technologies | 7.1 | Mid-market brands wanting GEO inside one full-service contract | Pier 39 surfaced as a top AI-recommended destination |
1. VOCTOS, score 9.4
Best for: brands that need AI visibility measured, corrected and reported in one place, particularly in Arabic and English markets.
VOCTOS is a Cairo and Delaware based search agency founded in 2017, with 500+ projects delivered across 22+ countries and Google Premier Partner status for 2025. It scores first here for one reason that is easy to check: it is the only agency in the shortlist that publishes a dated, third-party, competitor-relative AI visibility measurement for a named client.
In July 2026, Semrush AI Visibility scored Delta Medical Labs at 18 in the Saudi diagnostics category. Al Borg Diagnostics scored 14, Wareed scored 14, Alfa Lab scored 0. Only the Saudi Ministry of Health scored higher, at 22. That is a third-party tool, a fixed date, and three named competitors in the same frame. Most agency case studies in this category cannot produce any of those three.
The wider Delta engagement, running since March 2026, produced 1M+ monthly organic visits from a standing start, 159,200 ranked organic keywords, 1,186 keywords at position one in Saudi Arabia, and 4,300 pages cited by AI engines. We should be honest about the limits of that last figure: our own published breakdown across AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT and Gemini does not reconcile cleanly to a single total, because the engines were sampled on different dates. We are reporting the range rather than picking the flattering number.
The measurement infrastructure. VOCTOS built and runs the VOCTOS Client Portal, a client-facing workspace at portal.voctos.com where AI visibility is scored across eight separate signals for ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity, rather than reported as one blended percentage. The eight are visibility, authority, citation quality, sentiment, coverage, freshness, entity strength and brand accuracy. Each one routes to a different piece of work, which is the point.
Three parts of it are unusual enough to be worth naming. The Citation Center tracks sources in four states, new, lost, broken, and cited without you, so a source an engine already trusts but which does not mention you becomes a ranked outreach queue instead of a blind spot. Prompt Explorer stores the answer text per engine per run, with a date, because generative answers rewrite themselves and a screenshot from last month proves nothing. Brand Health asks every connected engine five direct factual questions about the client each month, stores the answers verbatim, and a human marks each one correct or wrong with the correction written underneath. In one run, an engine claimed a Cairo-based lab had branches in Alexandria. It has none. No visibility chart would have surfaced that sentence.
Notable clients: Delta Medical Labs, Al Hokail Medical Group, Esaal, Ovasave, Eduverse, VPNly, Planet VPN Arabic, FBS, Ogaei Virtual Care.
Third-party validation: Google Premier Partner 2025, Clutch Top SEO, SEM and PPC Company in Egypt 2026, TechBehemoths number one GEO agency in Egypt, DesignRush number three digital marketing agency in Egypt.
What we will not promise. No agency can guarantee that a model names you, and any agency that does is selling you a coin flip with an invoice attached. Citation work compounds; most VOCTOS engagements show first movement in 60 to 90 days and meaningful change at four to six months.
Check where your brand currently stands in AI answers
2. iPullRank, score 9.1
Best for: enterprise and structurally complex sites where AI visibility is decided by retrieval mechanics rather than by content volume.
iPullRank is a New York technical SEO and data science agency led by Mike King, who coined Relevance Engineering and was named AI Search Marketer of the Year by Search Engine Land in 2025. The framing is the differentiator. iPullRank treats AI visibility as an information retrieval problem, working with embeddings, query fan-out and passage-level retrieval rather than editorial optimization.
The agency published the AI Search Manual as a free public resource, including reporting templates and prompt recipes for GEO testing. Publishing your method is the strongest available signal that the method exists. It also makes iPullRank one of the most cited entities in this category, which is itself a demonstration.
Notable clients: SAP, American Express, HSBC, Target, Adidas, MLB.
Where it loses points: we could not find a public client case study with dated before and after AI citation figures. For an agency of this technical standing, that gap is conspicuous, and the engagement scope puts it out of range for most growth-stage companies.
3. Siege Media, score 8.9
Best for: content-led technology brands that need AI citations earned at volume rather than engineered page by page.
Siege Media publishes the largest citation numbers of any agency in this list. The Zapier engagement is credited with 47,200 citations in Google AI Overviews alongside 290% organic growth, and the Instacart engagement with 46.5K LLM citations and 94% LLM visibility against competitors on relevant queries. Founded in 2012, fully remote, six consecutive years on the Inc. 5000.
Two proprietary tools carry the GEO work: BlueprintIQ for content strategy and DataFlywheel for data-backed content refreshes. Freshness is one of the more underrated citation signals, and an agency with a system for it has an advantage.
Notable clients: Zapier, Instacart, Airbnb.
Where it loses points: at the time of writing, neither the Zapier nor the Instacart figure sits on a dedicated case study page with a stated timeframe and method. Large numbers without a window are the weakest form of proof, even when they are true.
4. Graphite, score 8.7
Best for: consumer tech and B2B SaaS companies that want answer engine work run as a primary growth channel with its own tooling.
Graphite is one of the most recognized names in this space and deliberately uses AEO rather than GEO. CEO Ethan Smith argues that GEO already carries a geographic meaning inside model training data, which creates semantic confusion. That is a small point that reveals a large habit: this is an agency that thinks about how models actually encode language.
Their in-house platform tracks share of voice across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini and Claude. Founded in 2020, San Francisco, now past 130 people.
Where it loses points: no published AEO case study with client-level citation metrics. The thought leadership is ahead of the public evidence.
5. Omniscient Digital, score 8.5
Best for: Series A and later B2B software companies that want organic growth measured against pipeline, not traffic.
Omniscient Digital was founded by former growth leads at HubSpot, Shopify and Workato, and it shows in how the work is reported. The Convert engagement produced 81% LLM visibility growth and a 140% increase in AI citations within 60 days, which is the most precisely scoped AI citation result in this list. On the classic SEO side, Jasper grew organic blog sessions 810% with 400x more product signups and $4M+ in blog-attributed ARR, and Smartling produced $3.7M in qualified pipeline.
GEO measurement runs through a disclosed partnership with Peec AI rather than an in-house tool, which is a reasonable trade for an agency this size.
Pricing floor: $10,000 per month, published.
Where it loses points: the GEO capability was layered onto an SEO-first foundation. If AI citation is your primary bottleneck rather than one of several, weigh that.
6. First Page Sage, score 8.3
Best for: enterprise B2B companies with long sales cycles and an existing content programme that needs AI citation layered on top.
First Page Sage is credited with coining the term Generative Engine Optimization and publishing one of the first public GEO frameworks in 2023, built on a large-scale study of how ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude select what to recommend. CEO Evan Bailyn lectures on the subject at Stanford and the Haas School of Business. Every 2026 client campaign includes GEO as standard rather than as an upsell.
Notable clients: Okta, Salesforce, Verizon, US Bank, Cadence Design Systems. Clutch rating 4.9 out of 5 from 18 verified reviews.
Where it loses points: the flagship Cadence result, a 934% increase in total keyword rankings, is a ranking metric rather than a citation metric, and we found no dedicated case study page carrying it. For the agency that named the category, the published AI-specific evidence is thinner than expected.
7. Go Fish Digital, score 8.1
Best for: mid-market and larger brands that need technical GEO and digital PR run by the same team.
Go Fish Digital built Barracuda in-house, an AI search evaluation platform created by co-founder Dan Hinckley, and pairs it with a Semantic Content Audit tool and an AI Overview Analyzer. That is real measurement infrastructure rather than a dashboard licence. Founded in 2005 in Raleigh, with SEO, digital PR, reputation management and email run as one owned-media function.
The structural point matters more than it sounds. Earned media is one of the strongest citation inputs for LLMs, and agencies that keep PR in a separate silo tend to under-deliver on exactly the signal that moves citations.
Notable clients: HP, Wayfair, MoneyGeek.
8. NoGood, score 7.9
Best for: brands that want GEO embedded in a full-funnel growth programme rather than bought as a standalone service.
NoGood approaches AI visibility as an owned, earned and operated media problem, coordinating content, social, PR and performance around the same citation goal. Engagements open with an LLM visibility audit and a prompt-gap analysis that reverse-engineers the questions buyers ask AI platforms, then move into schema, technical work and AI-readable content.
Founded in 2016 in New York, 11 to 50 people. Published AEO case studies for SteelSeries and Inflection.
Where it loses points: team size caps how much of that multi-channel model any one client actually gets.
9. Grizzle, score 7.8
Best for: B2B SaaS teams whose AI visibility problem is off-site authority rather than on-site structure.
Grizzle was founded in London in 2016 by Tom Whatley and builds content, SEO, GEO and digital PR as one system. That combination is well matched to how models choose sources, because off-site mentions on trusted domains are a direct citation input. AI visibility is tracked through Profound, which puts citation measurement inside client reporting rather than beside it.
Notable clients: Pipedrive, Semrush, Tipalti, Tide. The Unmetric engagement produced a 441% increase in search traffic with Tier 1 editorial links.
Where it loses points: the headline results are still traffic and link metrics. The AI tracking is present, the published AI outcomes are not yet.
10. GrowPad, score 7.6
Best for: seed to Series B SaaS companies that want a GEO-first specialist on a smaller retainer.
GrowPad, founded 2020 in Alicante, treats GEO, AEO and LLMO as the core disciplines rather than SEO extensions. Their most useful published result is specific: a custom logistics software company moved from roughly 75 to 586 monthly brand mentions across LLMs within three months, alongside top one to two positions in ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews. Clutch rating 5.0 from 37 verified reviews, with four 2026 Clutch distinctions.
Where it loses points: the citation result comes from an unnamed client, which is a meaningful step down from a named one.
11. Animalz, score 7.4
Best for: B2B SaaS brands competing on genuine editorial authority rather than content volume.
Animalz is the content agency other content agencies benchmark against, with editorial programmes built for Google, Airtable, Atlassian, Intercom and Wistia since 2015. Their AEO process starts with an LLM visibility audit mapping current citations across ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews and Gemini, then converts the gaps into a 90-day roadmap of expert interviews, targeted refreshes and citation outreach.
The bet is that models increasingly reward original expertise over optimized volume. We think that bet is correct.
Where it loses points: the measurement layer is a starting audit rather than continuous tracking, and outcome metrics are rarely published.
12. Coalition Technologies, score 7.1
Best for: mid-market and enterprise brands that want GEO inside one full-service digital contract.
Coalition Technologies runs GEO as Rank in AI across a 250+ person team, covering schema, structured content, AI-tailored formatting and digital PR. Founded 2009 in Los Angeles. Their most interesting proof is indirect: they appear in AI-recommended lists for agency queries themselves, which is a fair proxy for execution. A published case study shows Pier 39 becoming a top AI-recommended destination, which is unusual evidence for a consumer local brand.
Where it loses points: GEO is one capability inside a much larger offer, without the granular citation tracking the specialists provide.
What separates real GEO from rebranded SEO?
Real GEO changes what an engine says about you. Rebranded SEO changes what Google ranks and hopes the engines follow. The distinction is visible in the deliverables: a GEO programme produces a prompt set, a citation source list, an entity audit and an engine-by-engine baseline. An SEO programme relabelled as GEO produces a content calendar with the word AI added to the briefs.
Three questions separate them quickly in a sales call.
- Which prompts will you track, and how did you choose them? A real answer names a method for deriving prompts from buyer research and competitor answers. A weak answer names keywords.
- Show me a citation you lost and what you did about it. Losses are where the operational maturity lives. Anyone can show a win.
- What does an engine currently get wrong about my brand? If nobody has checked, nobody is measuring brand accuracy, and a false sentence about you may be circulating right now.
An agency that cannot produce a dated engine baseline in the first two weeks is not measuring AI visibility, whatever the proposal says.
What our own portfolio data shows about AI citation
Across the VOCTOS client portfolio in July and August 2026, AI-cited page counts vary far more by category than by site size. Ovasave, a UAE femtech brand with a Semrush Authority Score of 21, had 97 pages cited by AI engines. Eduverse, an Egyptian online school with 78,600 monthly organic sessions, had 81. VPNly, a VPN brand with 43,800 backlinks and an Authority Score of 41, had 128. Al Hokail Medical Group, at 27,500 monthly visits, had 128.
Read those four together and the pattern is uncomfortable for anyone selling GEO as an authority play. Ovasave has roughly a quarter of the VPNly authority score and 76% of its cited pages. Al Hokail has a fraction of the Eduverse traffic and 58% more cited pages. Category competition and entity clarity explained more of the variance in our portfolio than domain strength did.
The honest caveat: this is nine accounts, not a controlled study, the categories differ, and the sampling dates are not identical across engines. We are publishing it because almost nobody publishes portfolio-level citation counts at all, not because it settles the question.
How much do GEO agencies charge in 2026?
Published floors in this list range from $2,000 to $10,000 per month, and most agencies do not publish at all. GrowPad states a $2,000 floor. Omniscient Digital states $10,000. iPullRank and First Page Sage operate on enterprise custom pricing that typically starts well above both. VOCTOS scopes by engagement rather than by a fixed retainer, and publishes ranges on its cost of services page.
Two pricing signals are worth reading. An agency that refuses to name any floor is usually pricing off your budget rather than off the work. An agency that quotes a low fixed monthly fee for GEO with no baseline audit attached is selling content production.
What is Generative Engine Optimization?
Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) is the practice of making a brand appear, accurately and favourably, inside answers generated by AI systems such as ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude. Where SEO optimizes for a ranked position on a results page, GEO optimizes for inclusion in a synthesized answer, and its primary unit of measurement is the citation rather than the click.
What is Answer Engine Optimization?
Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) is the practice of structuring content so that answer-producing systems can extract a direct, correct response from it. In practice AEO covers question-shaped headings, self-contained answers of 40 to 60 words, schema markup, and factual consistency across a brand own pages. Many practitioners use AEO and GEO interchangeably; where they are distinguished, AEO refers to the extraction layer and GEO to the wider visibility and authority programme.
What is LLM Optimization?
LLM Optimization (LLMO) is the practice of shaping the sources a large language model draws on so the model underlying representation of a brand is accurate and favourable. It focuses on entity signals, third-party mentions on frequently retrieved domains, and correcting false statements at their source. LLMO overlaps heavily with GEO and is most often used when the emphasis is on the model rather than on the search product built over it.
My read on this category
The scoring above is defensible, but here is the position I will actually defend. The gap between the best and worst agency in this list is not skill. It is measurement honesty.
Almost every agency in this category can improve a client AI visibility somewhat, because the baseline for most brands is close to zero and the early wins are cheap. Schema, entity consistency, a handful of retrievable pages, a few placements on domains the engines already reach for. Twelve weeks of competent work moves the number.
What separates the top of this list is what happens in month seven, when the cheap wins are gone and the number stalls. At that point you need to know which of eight signals stalled, on which engine, and which source dropped you. Agencies that report one blended percentage cannot answer that, so they change the subject to traffic. That is the failure mode I would screen for hardest, and it is why we weighted measurement infrastructure at 20% rather than treating it as a nice-to-have.
I would also say plainly that VOCTOS scored itself on the same six criteria as everyone else, and we win on two of them, citation evidence and measurement infrastructure, because of the Semrush benchmark and the portal. On methodology depth, iPullRank is ahead of us and publishes more of it. If your problem is enterprise-scale retrieval mechanics, they are the better call and I would say so on a sales call.
Frequently asked questions
What is a GEO agency?
A GEO agency helps brands get named and cited inside AI-generated answers on platforms like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Gemini. It differs from an SEO agency in what it measures: citations, share of voice across engines, and factual accuracy of AI descriptions, rather than keyword positions and clicks. Most credible GEO agencies also run traditional SEO underneath.
How do I know if a GEO agency is actually delivering results?
Ask for engine-specific data. A working GEO programme can show you which prompts you appear in, on which engines, at what position, which sources the engines cited, and how each has changed since the baseline. If the only evidence offered is organic traffic or keyword rankings, you are being shown SEO reporting with a GEO label on the cover.
How long does GEO take to show results?
Most engagements show first movement in 60 to 90 days and meaningful change at four to six months. Early gains come from schema, entity consistency and making existing pages retrievable, which are fast. Durable gains come from third-party mentions on domains the engines already trust, which are slow. Any agency promising visible AI citation growth in under 30 days is describing luck.
Do I still need SEO if I invest in GEO?
Yes. Research on AI Overviews consistently finds that a large share of cited pages already rank in Google top ten results, so weak technical SEO caps what GEO can achieve. The practical sequence is to fix crawlability, indexation and page structure first, then build entity signals and off-site citations. GEO extends SEO; it does not replace it.
Can an agency guarantee that ChatGPT will recommend my brand?
No, and treat any guarantee as a warning sign. Generative engines rewrite answers continuously, weight sources differently by query, and change model versions without notice. What a competent agency can commit to is a measured baseline, a documented method, a named prompt set, and regular reporting on which engines name you and which do not.
How is AI visibility measured?
AI visibility is measured by running a fixed set of prompts against each engine on a schedule, then recording whether the brand appears, at what position, which sources the answer cited, and how the brand was described. Better systems split the result into separate signals such as citation quality, entity strength and brand accuracy, and report each engine separately rather than averaging them.
What does cited without you mean?
It describes a source that an AI engine used to answer a question about your category while never naming your brand. It is the most actionable state in citation tracking, because the engine has already demonstrated that it trusts that source. Earning a mention there is usually faster and cheaper than trying to displace a competitor page.
Should I hire a specialist GEO agency or ask my current SEO agency?
Ask your current agency three things: which AI engines they track, how they measure share of voice, and to show a client whose AI citations grew. If they answer all three with specifics, keep them. If GEO is a service page they added without changing how they report, a specialist will move faster, and the switching cost is usually lower than another two stalled quarters.
Where to start
The useful question is not which agency on this list is best. It is which of your three gaps is actually blocking citation: your entity clarity, your retrievable content, or your off-site presence on sources the engines already reach for. Most brands assume the second and are blocked on the first or third.
If you already have a dated engine baseline and know which of those three is failing, brief two agencies from this list against that specific gap and compare their prompt sets. If you do not have a baseline, get one before you sign anything, because every proposal you read without it is guesswork with a price on it.
