How VOCTOS Grew Ogaei’s Organic Traffic From 3 to 7,931 Monthly Clicks in 7 Months: An SEO Case Study

VOCTOS × Ogaei: From Zero to 7,931 Monthly Clicks
How we built topical authority in Canada’s most competitive healthcare niche in 7 months.
🏥 About the Client: Ogaei
Ogaei is a Canadian telehealth platform based in Ontario, connecting patients with licensed physicians through virtual consultations. Operating in one of the most competitive healthcare markets in North America, Ogaei needed a strong organic presence to compete against established telemedicine giants.
⚡ The Challenge: Zero to Authority
The Starting Point
When Ogaei came to VOCTOS, their website had near-zero organic traffic and virtually no search visibility. The telehealth industry in Canada is dominated by well-funded competitors with years of domain authority. Google applies its strictest quality standards to healthcare content (YMYL, “Your Money, Your Life”).
What the competitive audit actually showed
Before a single page was written, we built an Ogaei competitor analysis worksheet in May 2025. Six tabs: audit data, currently ranking keywords, keyword opportunities, keyword research, searches, and a backlink gap analysis. The screenshots below are that working file, not a redraw of it.

The gap was not subtle.
| Metric (May 2025) | Ogaei | Maple | Tia Health | MD Connected |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Domain Authority | 4 | 46 | 38 | 31 |
| Domain age | 9 months | 9 years | 6 years | 8 years |
| Organic traffic | 0 | 117,300 | 35,800 | 4,600 |
| Total keywords | 3 | 52,200 | 11,100 | 2,000 |
| Keywords on page one | 0 | 4,900 | 892 | 191 |
| Referring domains | 47 | 2,800 | 801 | 398 |
| Structured data | None found | WebPage, BreadcrumbList | WebPage, BreadcrumbList | MedicalOrganization, WebSite, LocalBusiness |
A nine-month-old domain with a 12% spam score, no structured data anywhere on the site, and three ranking keywords, against a competitor sitting on 52,200 keywords and roughly $171,300 of monthly traffic value. That is the real starting line.

The second tab is where the strategy came from. Telehealth ontario at 9,900 searches a month, online doctor ontario at 2,400, virtual doctor ontario at 1,300, and Ogaei was not ranking for any of them. More useful still, the audit showed the keywords actually driving Maple’s traffic were wegovy canada, ozempic cost canada and ozempic price. A competitor had already proven that GLP-1 pricing intent converts in this market, and nobody was answering it well. That is what became Pillar 2 below, and it is why the GLP-1 guides were written before anything else.
This is the unglamorous half of SEO, and it is the half most teams skip. Picking topics without it is guesswork. A worksheet like this takes a day, and it is the difference between publishing content you hope will rank and publishing content a competitor has already proven demand for.

🏆 Top Ranking Keywords
The full Search Console record
The monthly table above is the raw Google Search Console export, not a rounded summary. What follows is the rest of that record: how the target keywords actually moved, which pages earned the clicks, and where the traffic came from. The flat months and the April decline are published alongside the peak, because a case study that only shows the line going up is not evidence.
How the commercial keywords moved
| Keyword (Canada) | Monthly SV | Aug 2025 | Nov 2025 | Feb 2026 | Apr 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| online doctor Ontario | 2,400 | Not in top 50 | Not in top 50 | #13 | #1 |
| telemedicine ontario | 140 | Not in top 50 | Not in top 50 | Not in top 50 | #1 |
| online family doctor mississauga | 1,300 | Not in top 50 | #13 | #6 | #1 |
| online doctor Mississauga | 10 | Not in top 50 | #14 | #8 | #1 |
| online healthcare specialists | 10 | #16 | #23 | #3 | #1 |
| Ontario telemedicine platforms | 10 | Not in top 50 | #3 | #1 | #1 |
| online pain management Ontario | 10 | Not in top 50 | #4 | #1 | #1 |
| birth control cost ontario | 20 | Not in top 50 | #8 | #1 | #1 |
| fast doctor appointment online | 10 | Not in top 50 | Not in top 50 | #1 | #1 |
Two things in that table are worth sitting with. “telemedicine ontario” was still outside the top 50 in February 2026 and reached #1 by April, which is what a topical cluster looks like once it matures: nothing, nothing, nothing, then everything at once. And several of these terms carry small search volumes. They earn their place because the intent behind them is specific and commercial, not because they are large.
Which pages actually earned the clicks
| Page | Clicks | Impressions | CTR |
|---|---|---|---|
| /blog/wegovy-cost-in-canada/ | 7,820 | 478,932 | 1.63% |
| /blog/mounjaro-cost-in-canada/ | 6,557 | 438,854 | 1.49% |
| /blog/ozempic-cost-in-ontario/ | 3,648 | 453,307 | 0.80% |
| Homepage | 2,226 | 24,239 | 9.18% |
| /blog/birth-control-cost-ontario/ | 972 | 89,847 | 1.08% |
| /blog/back-ache-during-cold-and-flu/ | 836 | 304,016 | 0.27% |
| /blog/copper-iud-cost-in-ontario/ | 656 | 64,327 | 1.02% |
Three GLP-1 pricing guides produced more than 62% of every organic click in the period. The homepage is a different kind of signal: 24,239 impressions converted into 2,226 clicks at a 9.18% CTR, and 1,232 of those came from people typing “ogaei” directly into Google at a 43.21% CTR. That brand demand did not exist when the engagement started. It is a byproduct of the content, not of a brand campaign.
Where the traffic came from
| Device | Clicks | Share | CTR |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mobile | 20,422 | 71% | 1.03% |
| Desktop | 7,421 | 26% | 0.83% |
| Tablet | 873 | 3% | 1.78% |
| Country | Clicks | Share | Avg. position |
|---|---|---|---|
| Canada | 24,761 | 86.2% | 6.3 |
| United States | 1,648 | 5.7% | 7.1 |
| United Kingdom | 316 | 1.1% | 7.7 |
| India | 227 | 0.8% | 5.3 |
| Rest of world | 1,764 | 6.2% | Various |
Seven in ten clicks came from a phone, which is what healthcare search looks like in practice, and 86.2% came from Canada at an average position of 6.3. The point of both tables is qualification: a telehealth platform licensed in Ontario gains nothing from traffic in the wrong country or a ranking nobody scrolls to.
What is still open
Desktop Core Web Vitals reached 84 of 84 URLs rated “Good” by April 2026. Mobile did not. All 84 URLs are still rated “Needs Improvement”, with none in “Poor”, and that work is ongoing. April 2026 also came in at 6,657 clicks, 16% below the March peak, which reflects the seasonal January to March weight-loss search cycle rather than a loss of rankings. Both appear here because both are in the data.
