Why Microsoft Copilot optimization matters
Copilot is built into Bing, Windows, Edge, and Microsoft 365, putting an AI assistant in front of hundreds of millions of professionals and Windows users. It answers with cited sources grounded in Bing's index. Most brands optimize only for Google and are invisible here. Optimization makes you a source Copilot trusts, using Bing indexation, answer-ready content, entity signals, and trusted mentions.

INSIDE THE VOCTOS CLIENT PORTAL
What Copilot says about you, tracked exactly like every other engine.
Four screens from the live client portal. Copilot is measured on the same prompts and the same schedule as ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, so you can see where Bing indexation is helping you and where it is not. The screenshots below are live views of a demo workspace. The layout is exactly what you get; the figures inside are demo data.
How often the engines name you, and which way that is moving. You choose the questions your buyers actually ask; we run them across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot on a fixed schedule and record whether you were named, where in the answer you appeared, and who appeared beside you. Because the prompt set stays the same from run to run, the trend line means something. You are watching the same questions over time rather than a fresh sample each month.

Appearing in Copilot's answers looks like a matter of writing better content, but Copilot draws heavily on Bing's index, structured data, and entity signals working together. Real visibility comes from aligning all three, not from content changes alone.
Because Copilot visibility depends on your current technical setup and how Bing already understands your site, we confirm the exact scope of work after an initial review, so your timeline depends mainly on how quickly you approve changes and provide access.
How Copilot actually works
What is specific to Copilot, and not true of the other engines
Every AI visibility page says the same things. These are the parts that only apply here.
Copilot is the engine most often left out of an AI visibility programme, which is exactly why it is usually the cheapest one to win.
Where Copilot looks
The six places Copilot decides about you
Copilot is grounded in the Bing index and powered by GPT models, which makes its source mix different from every other assistant. These are the six places it reads, and what we do at each one.
Your Bing index position
Copilot retrieves from Bing, not Google. Most sites have never had a Bing-specific look: Bing Webmaster Tools unverified, IndexNow not wired up, and pages Google has but Bing does not. We fix indexation on the engine that actually feeds the answer.
Your entity in the Microsoft graph
Copilot resolves your company to an entity before it will recommend you. That means a consistent legal name, address and phone across the web, a matching Bing Places listing, and structured data on your own site that states the same facts.
Your own pages, read as a bot reads them
If a page needs JavaScript to show its content, Copilot may retrieve nothing useful from it. We serve the facts in HTML, in self-contained sections that can be lifted whole into an answer.
Third-party roundups and directories
Copilot leans on sources it already trusts for your category. We work the comparison articles, industry directories and listings that keep appearing in its citations, so your name is present where it looks.
Review platforms
A brand with a visible, credible review footprint is one Copilot is willing to name. We work the platforms that matter in your market instead of chasing volume on all of them.
Monthly re-testing on your own prompts
Copilot rewrites its answers constantly. We re-run your prompt set every month, store the answer, and show you the run where a competitor took the slot.
Move across the pack to read each one.
Want to see what Copilot says about you today?
We run your brand through a real prompt set and send you the answers, with the sources Copilot used.
No retainer attached. How Microsoft Copilot Optimization Works
We don't just publish content, we build a system that makes Copilot trust your brand enough to name it in its answers.
Mapping how Copilot answers your category
We test real buyer prompts to see what Copilot currently says, which sources it trusts, and where your brand is missing.
- Prompt-by-prompt testing
- Competitor citation analysis
- Spotting the citation gaps
Collecting the questions buyers actually ask
We build a map of the exact prompts your buyers type into Copilot, from comparisons to "best for" questions.
- Buyer intents and prompts
- Commercial and research scenarios
- A living map of buyer questions
Rewriting content to be quotable
We restructure your key pages into direct, factual answers that Copilot can lift and cite with confidence.
- Answer-first structure
- Direct, factual answers
- Content built to be cited
Earning the mentions Copilot trusts
We secure mentions, reviews, and listings on the third-party sources the model actually leans on when it writes an answer.
- Trusted third-party mentions
- Entity and trust signals
- Compounding authority over time

All postsMicrosoft Copilot: your questions
Because Copilot is not reached through bing.com. It ships inside Windows, Edge and Microsoft 365, so the question is not how many people choose Bing, it is how many people are already sitting in front of it at work. For B2B, IT, industrial and professional-services brands that audience is the buying committee.
Directly, and it is usually the fastest win on this surface. We set up Bing Webmaster Tools properly, submit and inspect priority URLs, clear the crawl and indexation errors Bing reports but Google does not, and wire up IndexNow so changes are pushed rather than waited on. Sites that have only ever been tuned for Googlebot often have obvious Bing-side problems nobody has looked at.
It speeds up discovery, not selection. Pinging IndexNow gets a changed URL looked at sooner, which matters when you are correcting a page Copilot is citing incorrectly. It has no influence on whether the page is judged good enough to cite. Worth doing, not worth paying much for.
They are different contexts with different grounding, even though the branding is identical. Browser Copilot can lean on the page in front of the user; the app answers cold. We test each surface separately in reporting, because a win in one is regularly invisible in the other and averaging them hides the problem.
Two sources side by side. Bing Webmaster Tools gives you impressions, clicks and indexation for the pages involved, which is more than any other AI surface exposes. On top of that we run your prompt set through Copilot on a schedule and store the answers and cited sources, so you can see both the plumbing and the outcome.
No, and conflating the two leads to wasted work. Copilot inside your tenant answers from your own documents, mail and Graph data; the consumer and web-grounded Copilot answers about your market from public sources. Nothing we do changes what your internal Copilot says, and nothing your IT team configures changes what a prospect’s Copilot says about you.
The durable half. A resolved business identity, answer-shaped pages and credible third-party coverage help on both surfaces. What does not transfer is the index dependency: ChatGPT search runs on OpenAI’s own crawler and index, while Copilot is grounded in Bing, so a site invisible to Bing gets nothing from the ChatGPT work.
Anything sold to people who work in Windows and Microsoft 365 all day: B2B software, IT services, manufacturing and industrial supply, logistics, finance and professional services. Consumer brands whose customers research on phones see far less, and we would rather tell you that at the proposal stage than after a quarter of billing.
